Behind Lacrosse
It had never been done for the sport of lacrosse, which is the fastest growing sport in America

Description:
Behind Lacrosse was started by Loud Communications in 2006. Although the concept of a behind-the-scenes sports show was not original, it had never been done for the sport of lacrosse which is the fastest growing sport in America. The goal was to provide an entertaining program that also educated viewers on the history and culture of the sport while also encouraging more people to get involved.

Obstacles:
Producing a weekly show that included highlights from college games only a few days before proved to be one of the greatest challenges. Telling these unique stories that would be of interest to the broad viewers and have enough photos and video to communicate them effectively was also quite interesting at times.

Solutions:
We worked closely with the host networks in order to get access to the weekly highlights and archival footage. Also, a close relationship with US Lacrosse proved essential for hosting the show at their museum as our studio. We connected with several key leaders in the lacrosse community to find the best stories and content. Our team of writers, host, camera crew, editors, sponsors, sales people, musicians, designers, web folks, etc. diligently worked to create a unique program each week. This was a large team effort coordinated by Loud Communications.

Favorite Element:
The clip from the episode here is from one of my favorite documentary-style interviews we did with Ryan Boyle. We interviewed Ryan for over an hour and had so many good stories to chose from…but once I received the footage from the NLL that included Ryan’s first fight it was just too perfect and made our decision much easier.
